Explore the cultural treasures of Kathmandu Valley before taking a picturesque flight to Pokhara, a lovely lakeside city. This tour includes old history, wonderful day activities for the more adventurous, and the opportunity to appreciate Nepal's more tranquil moments.
This is just a sample itinerary and all of our tours are fully customizable. We can build a trip that matches your unique interests and special requirements 100%.
When you arrive at the Kathmandu airport, your guide will be waiting with your name sigh at the exit gate. Your guide will transfer you to the booked hotel and assist you with all hotel check-in procedures, after which you are free to relax. In addition, if time allowed, there will be a brief summary of the entire program.
The thirty-minute flight to Pokhara gives breathtaking views of the Himalayas (try to sit on the right side of the aircraft!). After arriving in Pokhara, explore the Lakeside district of this laid-back city. On Phewa Lake, you can rent a paddle boat (with a paddler) or a kayak to enjoy the tranquil waters. On one side of the lake are the characteristic Macchapucchre (fishtail) mountain and on the other are the lush, forested hills. Pokhara provides some of the greatest foreign cuisines in Nepal, as well as excellent happy hour drink specials at pubs facing Phewa Lake.
We drive to Sarangkot Hill Station early in the morning to watch the sun rise over the Himalayas. Sarangkot is likely the best place to watch the sunrise and see a wide view of the mountains. In the afternoon, we take a 3-hour hike to the World Peace Stupa, which is southwest of Pokhara and about 1000 meters high. The first part of our hike to Peace Pagoda is a 20-minute boat ride on Fewa Lake. Once we're on the other side of the lake, we start hiking. It takes about 2 hours to get to the Peace Pagoda on an easy trail. Once we get to the top, we can see a wide view of Annapurna, Dhawalagiri, and Mt. Fishtail, as well as Fewa Lake and the city of Pokhara. Peace pagoda is called Santi Stupa in Nepalese, which means "Peace in Nepal" in English. There are 80 world peace pagodas all over the world, and Nepal has two of them.
Breakfast and we take a short flight back to Kathmandu. After arrival in Kathmandu, we drive to the ancient culture in the UNESCO-listed city of Bhaktapur. Capital of Nepal until the 18th century, it’s famous for its ancient buildings and fascinating local life. Listen close as our expert guide unlocks the city’s secrets. We’ll explore narrow alleys, meet skilled artisans and see locals socializing in the city’s famous squares. Dattatraya Square is like an open-air museum with its age-old temples and woodcarvings. At Pottery Square, we’ll see potters working at traditional wooden wheels in one of the oldest professions in the world. Fact! After a sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur, we drive to Kathmandu.
After breakfast, we will pick you up and take you to the airport for your flight back to home. Thank you very much for traveling with us. We hope you had a good time and can't wait to.

Win Win Win; Let Raj and team coordinate your journey
Personalized and professional: cannot recommend Raj and his team with Getaway Nepal Adventures highly enough. Raj provides tremendous value. He helped us plan a 12-day trip that covered exactly what we wanted to do. From advising about visas and meeting us at the airport, to staying in touch without ever being intrusive, he always made sure we were settled and had all our questions answered; he kept in close contact throughout, and even called our guides a couple times a day. His team of guides and drivers is excellent (shout out to Shyam and Kaaka!), and they’ve worked together for years. Raj was also able to make adjustments and accommodate last-minute changes to our itinerary seamlessly. Accommodations he chose were top-notch. The cooking class was great. Our trekking guide Shyam taught us how to play Tigers and Goats, treated us to special Nepalese treats in Pokhara, took us to special spots, and was always cheerful.
Raj, I think, is the face of new Nepal; he deserves support, and getting him to help you with your trip will make a journey to Nepal much richer. Whether you are planning a major trek into the mountains or a more sedate touring experience, or go on a retreat and then see the Chitwan park, or just want to buy rugs and thangkot art, his company has years of experience and a wide network of contacts. Five Stars plus.
We love Raj!
I went to Nepal with a team of clinicians and counseling students to provide training and continuing education to a group of social workers and professional counselors working in Nepal with trauma survivors. Raj was incredibly kind and helpful with securing us safe and affordable accommodations and providing us with fun and interesting cultural activities. He organized everything flawlessly and seemingly appeared out of nowhere every time we needed him. He was always early, eager to help, and wonderfully knowledgeable about the area attractions and activities.
When a friend and I stayed for an extra 2 days beyond the rest of our group’s departure, Raj recommended and arranged a trip to Bardia National Park for us. He got us a beautiful room in a wonderful resort which included all meals and 2 jeep safaris. The resort staff were all wonderful and it was clear that Raj had instructed them to treat us well! When we ran into an issue of a misplaced passport on our way home, Raj was on the phone with the embassy and already working to resolve the issue so we could get home. Luckily, we located the passport before we got back to Kathmandu and were able to get home without issue.
I can’t say enough good things about how kind, helpful, and knowledgeable Raj is! I need one of him in every country!
The best guided journey ever!
dear readers, getawayNepal and Raj made Nepal unforgettable for me. I found Getawaynepal through reviews and after one first email from Raj I immediately had confidence in him. During my journey this has only increased. Raj is a sweet, friendly man and always keeps his promises. Above all, he is very flexible, even if you want to change something in the itinerary. He always inquired if I was okay. I indicated what I wanted to do in Nepal and he responded very well to that. The Homestay in Panauti was very nice. The cooking class in momos, the yoga with the women of the village, the evening meeting with a Nepalese dance performance and the walks through the village with the daughter of the house, all equally fun and interesting. Then to the monastery in Namobuddha where I stayed for 6 days. Beautiful surroundings, eating and praying with the monks, and a whole experience. The tours in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur with the many historical sites were impressive, hotels were good.
Thank you Raj for your good guidance in every way.
