Nepal has a wide range of landscapes, climates, and wildlife from north to south. The Himalayan ranges make Nepal the steepest country in the world. This Nepal Wildlife Exploration takes you to two of the country's most famous national parks, Chitwan and Bardia, which have dense tropical forests. During your 10 days off, you will have the chance to see wild animals like the endangered one-horned Rhino, Bengal tiger, deer, wild boar, crocodiles, and elephants. You can also take part in many jungle activities like a bird watching tour or jeep safari. You will also have the chance to see the amazing cultural sites in Kathmandu, the city's lively capital.
This is just a sample itinerary and all of our tours are fully customizable. We can build a trip that matches your unique interests and special requirements 100%.
When you arrive at the Kathmandu airport, your guide will be waiting with your name sigh at the exit gate. Your guide will transfer you to the booked hotel and assist you with all hotel check-in procedures, after which you are free to relax. In addition, if time allowed, there will be a brief summary of the entire program.
Early this morning you'll be transferred to Kathmandu's domestic airport for an hour mountain flight trip. It is a scenic flight over the Himalayas, soaring above gorges, glaciers and the snow-capped peaks of this majestic mountain range. After mountain flight trip, back to hotel for breakfast and we leave for cultural tour of Kathmandu valley. First we visit the well-known Boudhanath Stupa. The stupa at Boudhanath is one of the biggest in South Asia. It is 36 meters high. Boudhanath is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. It is surrounded by a lot of monasteries.
After that, we drive to the Pashupatinath Temple, which is another very popular place to visit. This is one of Nepal's oldest Hindu temples, and it is also known as the country's national temple. We drive to the beautiful city of Patan in the afternoon to take a cooking class with a local. This is a fun, three-hour cooking class where you can learn how to make some traditional dishes and find out about some secret recipes. We can also learn how the food is grown and the names of different vegetables in Nepali.
We'll take a flight to Chitwan after breakfast. We will get to Bharatpur after a 20-minute flight. We'll drive to Sauraha and check into the hotel when we get there. From Bharatpur airport to your hotel will take about an hour. After lunch at the hotel, we'll head toward the twenty thousand lakes. It is a great place to watch birds, as well as reptiles and other mammals. We will move near the Rapti River in the late afternoon so we can see a beautiful sunset.
After breakfast we will start our program for today. Today we will be doing canoe ride and Jeep safari tour that gives you a chance to experience the Chitwan Jungle and the rich ecosystem of Chitwan National Park through a 2-hour canoe trip and a full day in a jeep in Chitwan National Park, where you can see different kinds of mammals, birds, reptiles, and water animals. During the 2-hour canoe trip, you can see two different kinds of crocodiles, including the critically endangered "Gharial" crocodile, as well as more than 100 different kinds of colorful birds, Rhinos swimming in the river, and other animals.
In Chitwan National Park, the best way to see a lot of land is to take a jeep, which will take you deep into the jungle. You will pass through sal forest, grassland, mixed forest, and some lakes. It's fun to ride a Jeep through Chitwan National Park's dense forest. And you'll find a wild world with 8-meter-tall Elephant grass, towering trees, and twisting vines, prehistoric rhino, elephant, crocodile, python, 4 types of deer, monkey, common leopard, and more than 500 different kinds of colorful birds, etc. The jeep will stop at an observation tower, lakes, and some animal-spotting areas so you can see the animals. One of the best ways to see a Royal Bengal Tiger is to take a full-day jeep tour.
We will drive to Bardia National Park after breakfast. It takes about 8–9 hours to get there by car. The Bardia National Park is a big part of the Nepal Wildlife Tour. In the western lowlands of Nepal, Bardia National Park is known for its great wildlife and rare and endangered tiger species. We will spend 3 nights in Bardia and during our three night stay, we will search the reserve’s extensive forests and floodplains for its diverse wildlife, including Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Tiger and over 300 species of bird.
Breakfast and we leave for full day Jeep Safari inside Bardia National Park. An excellent opportunity to see Royal Bengal Tiger & many more wild animals. You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Bardia their home. A jeep will take you further into the jungle of Bardia, which gives you the chance to see different vegetation of the park. We will make stops at watchtowers, wildlife drinking spots and at riverbanks.
Breakfast and we leave for rafting in the Karnali River. Rafting gives you a wonderful opportunity to spot birds and animals on the riverbanks and you might see the rare Gangetic river dolphin. It is a half day rafting trip and the water in the river mainly flows calmly and there are a few rapids. This makes it a perfect trip for wildlife and birdwatching. After rafting trip, we return to hotel and free time for relaxation.
Breakfast and drive to Nepalgunj airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Arrival in Kathmandu hotel transfer and free afternoon for your own activities.
After breakfast, we will pick you up and take you to the airport for your flight back to home. Thank you very much for traveling with us. We hope you had a good time and can't wait to.

Win Win Win; Let Raj and team coordinate your journey
Personalized and professional: cannot recommend Raj and his team with Getaway Nepal Adventures highly enough. Raj provides tremendous value. He helped us plan a 12-day trip that covered exactly what we wanted to do. From advising about visas and meeting us at the airport, to staying in touch without ever being intrusive, he always made sure we were settled and had all our questions answered; he kept in close contact throughout, and even called our guides a couple times a day. His team of guides and drivers is excellent (shout out to Shyam and Kaaka!), and they’ve worked together for years. Raj was also able to make adjustments and accommodate last-minute changes to our itinerary seamlessly. Accommodations he chose were top-notch. The cooking class was great. Our trekking guide Shyam taught us how to play Tigers and Goats, treated us to special Nepalese treats in Pokhara, took us to special spots, and was always cheerful.
Raj, I think, is the face of new Nepal; he deserves support, and getting him to help you with your trip will make a journey to Nepal much richer. Whether you are planning a major trek into the mountains or a more sedate touring experience, or go on a retreat and then see the Chitwan park, or just want to buy rugs and thangkot art, his company has years of experience and a wide network of contacts. Five Stars plus.
We love Raj!
I went to Nepal with a team of clinicians and counseling students to provide training and continuing education to a group of social workers and professional counselors working in Nepal with trauma survivors. Raj was incredibly kind and helpful with securing us safe and affordable accommodations and providing us with fun and interesting cultural activities. He organized everything flawlessly and seemingly appeared out of nowhere every time we needed him. He was always early, eager to help, and wonderfully knowledgeable about the area attractions and activities.
When a friend and I stayed for an extra 2 days beyond the rest of our group’s departure, Raj recommended and arranged a trip to Bardia National Park for us. He got us a beautiful room in a wonderful resort which included all meals and 2 jeep safaris. The resort staff were all wonderful and it was clear that Raj had instructed them to treat us well! When we ran into an issue of a misplaced passport on our way home, Raj was on the phone with the embassy and already working to resolve the issue so we could get home. Luckily, we located the passport before we got back to Kathmandu and were able to get home without issue.
I can’t say enough good things about how kind, helpful, and knowledgeable Raj is! I need one of him in every country!
The best guided journey ever!
dear readers, getawayNepal and Raj made Nepal unforgettable for me. I found Getawaynepal through reviews and after one first email from Raj I immediately had confidence in him. During my journey this has only increased. Raj is a sweet, friendly man and always keeps his promises. Above all, he is very flexible, even if you want to change something in the itinerary. He always inquired if I was okay. I indicated what I wanted to do in Nepal and he responded very well to that. The Homestay in Panauti was very nice. The cooking class in momos, the yoga with the women of the village, the evening meeting with a Nepalese dance performance and the walks through the village with the daughter of the house, all equally fun and interesting. Then to the monastery in Namobuddha where I stayed for 6 days. Beautiful surroundings, eating and praying with the monks, and a whole experience. The tours in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur with the many historical sites were impressive, hotels were good.
Thank you Raj for your good guidance in every way.
